New Pokemon: Prickupine and Spikeukpine

Prickupine:
Spikeupine:
First, I apologize to all of you for my not having posted anything in so long.  Unfortunately, I had been having computer troubles lately, and my printer/scanner was broken.  It took a while, but I fixed my computer and printer/scanner.  I'm back!  Back on topic of the pictures in this post, I drew these (mainly in nostalgic remembrance of when pokemon was awesome) the other day when I finished my test in Spanish on animals early (the spanish name for porcupine is puerco espín, by the way).  Do you think these would actually be good designs for new pokemon?  Would you want to catch these pokemon if they were in one of the games?  They'd both probably be either rock or normal type pokemon, though I think spikeupine's tail whip would do a bit more than just lower the enemy pokemon's defense by 1.

Code Name: Cannon Fodder

Because I had become so enthralled by the world of x-men, I re-watched some of the older x-men movies and read about more new, interesting characters that I had previously not known about.  However, I do not recommend that anyone, who hasn't already done so, watch, or re-watch, X-Men: The Last Stand; this particular movie was simply awful.  The movie was convoluted, dull, and disappointing, and it did not get better the second time around.  While X-Men: The Last Stand was disappointing, the other movies in the series were all, at the least, entertaining, with X-Men: First Class remaining my favorite from the series.  Nonetheless, I was inspired to create another mutant (pictured above).

-Code Name: Cannon Fodder
-Code Name Explanation: Merriam-Webster defines cannon fodder as "soldiers regarded or treated as expendable in battle."
-Real Name: Damian Aberthol
-Explanation for Real Name: Damian is derived from the Greek word δαμάζω, which Wikipedia defines as "to conquer, master, overcome, tame."  Aberthol is a surname with English origins that means "sacrifice."
-Alignment (Good or Bad): Bad
-History: Damian Aberthol was born to be the rich heir to the Aberthol fortune.  As a young boy, Damian had been a precociously intelligent, crafty troublemaker. In addition, Damian had been a martial arts prodigy, mastering various martial arts starting at very young ages.  These traits, combined with being endlessly spoiled, made Damian exorbitantly prideful and arrogant from childhood.  As a result, Damian came to despise being told what to do. Later on, Damian formed an incorrigible group of  friends, in which he was the obvious leader; Damian expected everyone in his group of friends to listen to each and every one of his words.  Therefore, Damian, unencumbered by rules, often led his group of friends to commit various crimes.  Despite everyone obeying Damian out of fear, Damian treated those beneath him as worthless cannon fodder, inspiring secret contempt among the "friends."  Consequently, after accidentally using his mutant ability (described below) for the first time, Damian became secretly ostracized by his "friends."  When Damian, later that day, met with some of his hated enemies, his friends did not show up by his side.  This betrayal by his friends led Damian to suffer his first beating, though he did injure many of his enemies beforehand.  Because they had found out about their son's being a mutant and having been beaten bloody, Damian's parents pitied him.  Overcome with embarrassment and disgrace, Damian, full of hubris, ran away, swearing revenge for this betrayal. Surprisingly, this event later fueled Damian's arrogance.  After this event, Damian came to view himself as not only an unbound conqueror but also a completely different species from humans.  Moreover, this disdain for humanity grew to straight-out abhorrence for humanity, spurring Damian to join the Brotherhood of Mutants.  Damian wanted to eliminate all of humanity.
-Mutation: Damian has the ability to spawn dark entities with human shapes that take on complete physical existence out of thin air.  Damian can control these dark entities, which he calls "shadowlings," at will.  Able to completely control his shadowlings' movements, Damian can use his shadowlings to attack others e.g. have them shoot a gun at an opponent.  However, Damian prefers to use his shadowlings as either cannon fodder to absorb powerful attacks from opponents, exhausting them, or as quick shields against dangerous attacks in close combat.  Note that the shadowlings' complete physical existence makes them palpable like, for example, humans.  This preference of Damian's is due to Damian's penchant for personally causing pain to those who go against him.
-Abilities: Damian's primary abilities are his extremely formidable martial arts abilities and his clever mind, which he uses to create cunning plans.
-Strength Level: Damian has the strength of a normal human being who engages in regular rigorous exercise.
-Weapons: Damian usually uses the blades attached to his gloves, but he will use another weapon if it is convenient.

Code Name: Crypsis

A while back, I had watched X-Men: First Class (another good movie, btw) and had become interested in the x-men universe. Prior to my learning of many interesting characters in the x-men universe, I had only known of basic characters e.g. Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Gambit, etc. Nonetheless, I was extremely impressed by the vast reservoir of intriguing characters as well as their backgrounds, abilities, personalities, etc. As a result, I decided to create my own mutant (pictured above).

-Code Name: Crypsis.
-Code Name Explanation: According to Wikipedia, "In ecology, crypsis is the ability of an organism to avoid observation or detection by other organisms. It may be either a predation strategy or an antipredator adaptation, and methods range from camouflage, nocturnality, subterranean lifestyle, transparency, or mimicry."
-Real Name: Unknown
-Alignment (Good or Evil): He can be considered neither good nor evil. As a lone wolf assassin, Crypsis has no allegiances or notable affiliation with any particular institutions or sides. Crypsis aligns himself with whichever side promotes his personal agenda, more than willing to betray that side if it begins to antagonize his purposes.
-Mutation: Under the cloak of night, Crypsis is able to completely erase his presence. This ability is not limited to visual blending in with nighttime surroundings. On the contrary, Crypsis can, in essence, become part of the night by erasing any scents he may give off, any potentially exuded pheromones, all sounds he may make, and any other indication of his being present. In fact, Crypsis may not even be detected with night vision, sonar (e.g. by bats), infrared heat detectors, etc. In addition, Crypsis can even temporarily erase his physical existence, though remaining mobile, so that attacks (physical, psionic, etc.)pass through him without causing him any harm. However, this ability quickly drains Crypsis of his energy and leaves him temporarily paralyzed after usage, with a longer paralysis time after longer usage, leaving him vulnerable. There are also rumors that Crypsis may possess other powers e.g. some have claimed that he can emit obsidian black optic blasts comparable to those of Cyclops. Nevertheless, these rumors have never been confirmed because Crypsis primarily uses only his presence-erasing ability, and those who spread these rumors end up disappearing before confirmation...
-Abilities: Crypsis' abilities include extreme resourcefulness, well-honed martial arts mastery, skillful motorcycle maneuvering, superlative knife mastery, extremely precise aim, etc. It is believed, due to his wide array of abilities and knowledge of international governmental secrets, that Crypsis is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent gone rogue. These rumors suggest that Crypsis had volunteered for a secret project within S.H.I.E.L.D. (one that few in S.H.I.E.L.D. even knew about), when he began intensive training. After he received training, as well as access to certain secrets, weaponry, and advanced technology, Crypsis, loyal only to his purposes, not those of S.H.I.E.L.D., arbitrarily betrayed S.H.I.E.L.D. and killed all of those associated with the project. This betrayal came as a huge surprise because there had seemingly been no impetus for Crypsis to have done so.
-Strength Level: Crypsis has the strength (and other physical characteristics e.g. speed, reflexes, etc.) of a normal human being with an innate talent in sports and other physical activities that regularly engages in exercise and training. Because of his non-superhuman physical characteristics, Crypsis had trained himself to be able to use his opponents' superhuman strength, speed, etc.against themselves.
-weapons: Crypsis usually uses his spiked knuckle-gloves, shurikens and kunai knives (in the pouch on his pants), and true/primary adamantium knife. Crypsis can also skillfully use many other weapons, but he often chooses not to.

Zombie Ninja Doodle

After watching “Zombieland” a while back, I couldn't get the movie off of my mind. It’s a really funny movie, and I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. Therefore, when I was in class the next day, I began to doodle. The finished product of my doodling was this ninja-like character. This ninja-like character, as you can probably tell from the swords and other weapons sticking out of him, is also a zombie. I think this doodle turned out pretty well. Tell me what you guys think of it. Please rate and comment below. Also, if you want to see more of my random skedoodles, be sure to become a follower and check back every so often.

Sketching While Reading William Carlos Williams (English Class)

This is just a random sketch for a demon-like character that I drew one day in English class, as you can probably tell from the poem in the background. I made this sketch while we were analyzing William Carlos Willaim's The Red Wheelbarrow and This is just to say. Tell me what you guys think of it. Please rate and comment below. Skedoodles Purpose

Like many other students my age, I spend way too much of my class time drawing random sketches and doodles.  On this blog, I will be sharing these sketches and drawings every once in a while, hence the blog's title, "Skedoodles," is a portmanteau of sketches and doodles. However, I am by no means a really good artist; I've never even taken a single drawing lesson. In fact, all of my sketches and doodles are drawn with normal, random pencils (the ones that happen to be closest by me, at the time). Rather than trying to display masterful works of art, I am simply trying to share some of my random sketches and doodles for fun. Please rate and comment on my sketches and doodles! Most importantly, though, have fun browsing my random  skedoodles. Also, if you want to see more of my random skedoodles, be sure to become a follower and check back every so often.

p.s. A skedoodle a day keeps the good grades away

p.p.s. haha that was a bad joke
